Hi there! I'm Christina Ramirez, a Chicago-based theatre maker known for my work as a director, teaching artist, and private audition coach. Though my work has taken me across the country and overseas, I have proudly called Chicagoland my artistic home since 2020.

I launched my professional career over two decades ago in my hometown of St. Louis, where I earned my BFA in Musical Theatre from Webster University's Sargent Conservatory of Theatre Arts. In the early years of my career, I performed at renowned venues such as The MUNY, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Hope Repertory Theatre, Maples Repertory Theatre, Insight Theatre Company, Union Avenue Opera, and Opera Theatre of St. Louis.

In 2013, I relocated to New York City, where I quickly joined Actors' Equity Association after touring with Theatreworks USA’s Henry and Mudge. That same year, I began working as a coach and advisor at Broadway Artists Alliance and launched my private coaching studio. For over a decade, I have empowered actors to harness their unique strengths and present their most authentic selves in the audition room.

While continuing to perform off-Broadway and on tour (including more than a few productions of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), my passion gradually shifted toward directing. I immersed myself in learning all facets of theatre-making, while teaching and directing youth productions at prestigious institutions such as New York City Center, The New York Pops, ArtsIgnite, Broadway for Arts Ed, and Applause NY. In 2016, I was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from COCAstl.

Since moving to Chicago in 2020, I have served as Managing Director of the award-winning Actors Training Center in Wilmette, where I continue to mentor passionate performers of all ages. I earned my Master of Arts in Directing from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts in 2021.

My multifaceted background makes me a more empathetic collaborator and insightful storyteller.

When not in the theatre or the studio, I can likely be found at a barre class, traveling, or tinkering in the kitchen with a favorite recipe.
